Twitter co-founder, Evan William, created a new blogging site called “Medium,” which is a blogging site where you have to be a professional to post blogs. In “Twitter Co-Founder Evan Williams Lays Out His Plan For The Future Of Media,” Williams talked all about it.
I think this is a great site because like what the reading said, “part of the reason a lot of tech blogs are bad is the people writing them don’t really understand what they’re writing about.” People might not be giving out the right information. However, with Medium, this will not happen since the publishers have to be professionals.
Most people don’t read articles all the way though —I am one of them. Unless it is my interest or an assignment, I will probably not read the entire article (I read everything for this article). Therefore, people come up with unique, intelligent, clever titles for readers to click. I think that because Medium is written by professionals, most of the readings will be interesting; they will know how to get people’s attention.
Williams said, “I think more people would be in a better place if more people shared their ideas.” I strongly agree with him. I think people’s ideas should be heard because one day the ideas are going to the only things we could count on. With people sharing ideas, we will live a better life. Therefore, I believe that creating Medium was a good idea.
There is a quote, “great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.” by Eleanor Roosevelt. The first part of the quote really brings out what Medium really is.
Digital media created people to share their thoughts and post for other people to see. Because we use the Internet as a necessity now, journalism, entertainment, literacy, and capitalism expanded. People can post things for other people for free and get attention if they want to. Digital media and the use of the Internet made our lives easier and better because we can connect to people easier; we can also talk to people around the world.
However, there are bad things about the use of the Internet. It may be useful for the most part but it can be very dangerous. For example, people could get hacked and get their personal information leak out. We have to be careful with what we do and what we post on the Internet all the time.
